How I get paid to write

Hi Reader,

I was a broke writer in my twenties.

I was too busy playing video games and trying to write THE BOOK… instead of figuring out how to build a writing business.

In my 30s, I landed a job as an in-house copywriter.

I picked up skills I still use today to write online.

Now, as your internet elder (I’m 42!), I work on my writing business full-time.

Well ALMOST.

Someday I take the afternoon off to pick the kids up from school or go for a long run.

Perhaps you’re at a different stage?

I want to explain what did and didn’t work, so you can build a writing business too.

You see…

I’ve tried dozens of different strategies for getting paid to write online.

I spent thousands taking courses and dozens of hours talking to experts about all of these strategies.

Some were massive successes (like +6 figures).

Others were a TOTAL crash and burn.

Some STILL work today.

Others, less so.

Here are just a few of the strategies I tried:

Writing and self-publishing books on Kindle - Fun, but not directly profitable.

Creating digital downloads like printables - Crash and burn. Requires massive volume.

Freelance writing - Time-consuming. Revenue was sporadic, too.

Copywriting - Lucrative. Every writer should know the basics.

Building content websites - Was very profitable. Less so today.

Coaching and consulting - A sweet spot for many writers who want to go pro.

Creating online courses - Profitable if you have an email list, but not as easy as hustle X says.

Writing for social media partner programs - Fun, but don’t get sucked into thinking this is a good job.

Next Thursday, I’m hosting a workshop for Pro Writers only.

I’ll walk through all of these strategies in detail, sharing what worked, what didn’t work, and what strategy I’d employ today.

You can buy a ticket below.

Write on,
Bryan Collins
