I drink your milkshake
|
Hi Reader, There Will Be Blood is one of my favorite movies. I’m from Ireland, so I’ll always root for anything starring Daniel Day-Lewis. Day-Lewis plays ruthless oil baron, the mustachioed Daniel Plainview. At the end of the film (spoiler!), Plainview shouts at a fellow oil magnate. “I… drink… your milkshake.” A sweaty Plainview tells the confused magnate how he drilled underground and across the oilfields beneath both of them. Plainview sucked all the oil out from the unsuspecting magnate’s field, without him knowing. Sneaky, right? Plainview slurps and leans in, while the magnate cries out realizing what he lost. “I drink it up!” shouts Plainview. The truth is someone could be slurping your milkshake, right now. They could be slurping happily and from underneath your feet. Chances are… you’re doing the work. Perhaps you’re writing in-depth explainers, guides, and tutorials. Or you’re publishing content that speaks directly to your ideal customer, client or reader. You’re busy sharing and publishing… You’re busy giving away all your best ideas… All in the hope that one day, ONE DAY you’ll extract oil from the oil rush of writing and content creation. But you’re not quite ready to make an offer yet. You want to learn more about the game, first. Meanwhile… Your followers and connections, they know they’ve a problem, thanks to your content. They know they need help. They’re even ready to pay for it. But you haven’t presented an offer, yet. So what are they going to do? Well, another unseen creator… another Plainview. His offer is ready. And he’s no hesitation about presenting it. He’ll happily pitch services to clients YOU can help. He’ll happily convert them into his customers. He’ll happily reach across, suck the oil out from underneath you. And drink up every last sip of your milkshake. If you want to claim what’s rightfully yours but need help creating an offer that converts, reply “MILKSHAKE” to this email Write on, |
