Don’t rely on partner programs to get paid

Hi Reader,

I’ve earned thousands of dollars from partner programs like Medium.

I wrote viral articles, and they paid me several hundred dollars each month.

And now some content creators I know are getting paid to create content for Facebook and Instagram.

Sure, it’s nice when a social media network pays YOU to create content for THEM.

In reality?

You’re a slave to an algo that can change at any time…

You’re leaving money on the table…

And you’re working for less than you think…

As an example…

The other day, I divided what Medium paid me by the words published.

The rate came in at far less than 10 cents.

(And now the Medium algo is making it MUCH harder for writers over there to earn a decent living.)

The reality?

Many easier strategies exist for getting paid to write.

I recommend these strategies to Pro Writers.

One example?

Finding clients.

I love working with clients who take building a writing business seriously.

It’s more rewarding because…

  1. You can help someone else
  2. It pays more than producing dozens of articles
  3. You learn more about your audience

Now client work isn’t for everyone.

I get that.

But you can also productize yourself and what you know into a type of digital product.

Then you can sell increasing levels of access.

That way, you can increase your income… and spend more time writing.

Write on,
Bryan Collins

PS As it's July 4th this week, I'm running the Get Paid to Write workshop later in July :) If you want to get on a waitlist for it, reply to this email.
