Don’t miss this AI trick

When researching my book The Power of Creativity, I kept coming across the idea that creativity thrives under constraints.

Want to write and publish a book? Set a three-month deadline. Then, send it to an editor. You’ll get useful feedback faster.

Building a website? Forget about logos, themes, and colors. Use Kit, Ghost or Substack. Constrain yourself to growing an audience.

Writing an article? Give yourself a strict word count. Brevity breeds clarity.

Constraints work when using AI, too.

Large language learning models like ChatGPT and Claude are great at predicting what words will come next. But AI will spit out generic crap if it has free reign.

Enter the concept of persona pattern.

Constrain AI by telling it who it should act like. Then, it will generate something far more creative. For example:

You are a highly skilled executive assistant…

You are a world-class content strategist…

You are a 7-figure copywriter who specializes in…

For example, I trained ChatGPT on who I am and what my business does. Then, I constrained AI to act like my creative coach, before asking what I should work on this week. Here’s what the results look like:

Giving ChatGPT or another LLM a persona is only part of effective prompt writing. I can show you the other three parts of an effective prompt before moving onto advanced prompt writing techniques like training AI as your executive assistant. It’s all inside PromptWritingStudio.
