Just replaced half my tech stack with vibe-coded tools.
Vibe coding is all the rage these days. Come up with an idea and, with the help of AI, turn it into a finished product. No computer science degree required, only a clear understanding of what you want and how to write a great prompt. Here’s what I vibe-coded recently: I started by vibe coding a fun project that had nothing to do with my business, a glitch text generator. I used Lovable, a popular AI vibe coding tool. Then, I code a few landing pages with a more advanced AI coding tool: Windsurf. I was spending $99 per month on landing page software to grow my email list. Now, I roll my own. You can check out some of my landing pages here. Now, I’m using Cursor for a new web project. Time spent yes, but I saved a few grand on those monthly SaaS subscriptions. Vibe coding isn’t for everyone, but if you want to give it a shot, set aside an hour or two each day. Then… Pick an easy project where the stakes are low. Use this as your playground. Bolt and Lovable are nice starting points. Write a clear product developer document aka PRD. This tells AI what you want. AI can help you write one if you prompt it. Commit early and often to GitHub. It’s like social media for developers. Cursor and Windsurf are happy to go down tangents that are hard to reverse. Try the same prompts with different AI models. Gemini likes to think long and hard, while Claude 4.0 is great for coding, but it regularly times out. Solve one problem per chat. AI needs context; it’ll get confused if you try to do everything with one or two prompts in the same chat. Create clear project rules. I wrote ones for project memories and different features for my apps. It (mostly) prevents AI from going off the rails. Did I mention I’m not a coder? I can develop a website fairly quickly, yes, but I see myself as a creator first. I don’t like wading through lines of JavaScript and Python queries. I do, however, like creating, building, and shipping. I’m using some of the frameworks I teach inside of PromptWritingStudio. You can use these frameworks for creating content, running your business or even vibe coding. |
