How to create lecture notes with AI
Nkechi wrote in to ask, “I want an AI prompt that can help me develop lecture notes.” My son is also starting college this September, and I’m also enrolling in a post-grad course. So, this question caught my attention. Oddly enough, academica is fearful of AI, perhaps because AI companies are poaching their top talent. I’d wager lecturers are struggling with distinguishing between AI and human-written essays. Still, warning students off AI is like an early 2000s lecturer telling their class to avoid the web. Well-meaning but impractical advice. I’d rather use AI to help with a course. You don’t need to write a prompt to create personalized lecture notes. Try this workflow instead:
Boom! Instant personal podcast, where two hosts go backwards and forwards chatting about the key topics. That’s much easier than wading through dry academic papers. You can follow the same process to create an interactive mind map and text overview of your lectures too. Even if you’re not in college, try this process with your blog posts, articles, story ideas, or content. It’ll help you spot trends and topics to explore.
