Alarming news from McDonald’s (content creators beware)

The fast-food chain is rolling out advanced AI across 43,000 restaurants in the US. Soon, managers can turn to our future robot overloads to identify broken machines and wrong orders. McDonald’s is improving AI voice services at its drive-through counters. No more tapping madly on an oversized iPad.

I don’t eat much McDonald’s, but like any business owner, I admire how they’ve SOP-d everything about their product. Walk into a McDonald’s in Dublin or New York, and you can expect the same experience. And that Big Mac and fries should taste familiar, too.

Alarming news if you’re an entry-level McDonald’s employee, but hardly surprising.

The assembly line nature of McDonald’s and any fast food restaurant is easily replicable by AI-powered machines. That sizzle of fries hitting the oil, the precise squirt of special sauce on each bun- a robot can do it as well as any human. And robots don’t get sick, take time off, or complain about low pay.

Fast food content went the same way two years ago: think question-and-answer articles, how-to guides, best-of roundups, and other old formats from the content assembly line.

Before ChatGPT, you had two choices: spend a few hours writing fast food content or commission the job to a freelance writer. The latter usually cost me 4–6 cents per word. I can fire up a ChatGPT or Claude project and generate this content with the right prompts or a content agency.

The content creation assembly line is being dismantled. Thanks to AI, entry-level content creators and bargain basement agencies are already out of work.
AI frees up pro creators and business owners from word-wrangling and bargain-basement work.

Use AI correctly, and you can spend far more time developing profitable ideas for your business and less time word-wrangling. That’s what I’m doing.

Last week, I validated an idea for two lead magnets for my business. I created a draft with AI and edited the output. Then, I used the lead magnets for a new campaign that netted me a few dozen high-quality subscribers within a day or two. The whole process took about an hour. Before AI, I’d have spent a week testing and iterating.

If you need help using AI to create lead magnets and build your list, you’ll love my workshop next week.

I’ll show you how to validate and create high-converting lead magnets quickly and easily with Claude and ChatGPT. Then, I’ll give you a recipe for attracting high-quality subscribers using your lead magnet. You won’t get this anywhere else, including at McDonald’s.
