7 weird ways I’m using AI to make money (and save time)

I’m enlisting AI for different types of creative and business projects. Some of these are saving me time, some earned a chunk of $$$ and some are fun. Here are a few of my weirder use cases for our future AI overlords.

As a ghostwriter. I enjoy writing, but I don’t like rewriting the same piece of content ten different times. AI is freeing me up from working as a word wrangler. I come up with an idea or create a piece of content once, and my custom Claude Project repurposes parts of it for social media. All I have to do is tidy up the output, and schedule. It also helps me with boring writing jobs like headlines and video descriptions, which in turn gives me more creative white space.

As an executive assistant.

I’m using AI for all sorts of admin jobs including summarizing videos, calls and meetings. My Exec Assistant GPT is helping me with a volunteer role I have in a local sports club. And it even planned my trip to Spain.

As a business coach.

I’m a big goals goal. I need to know where I’m going… so I get there! So I plugged my goals into a custom ChatGPT project. Every night, I ask what I need to work on tomorrow. And at the end of the week, I prompt it to see if I’m on track.

As a fractional CMO.

I started a new project last month, a local newsletter about events in Leinster, Ireland. Normally I’d grow a newsletter with SEO, but not this time. I needed help with a different type of traffic and monetization plan. My ChatGPT marketing assistant helped me generate a 90-day plan…in an hour. I’m already getting dozens of new subscribers for this project.

As a financial planner.

I’d rather spend time on creative projects than staring at the prices for stocks I own. So, I took a screenshot of some stocks and crypto I own and plugged them into ChatGPT. Then, I told AI about my financial goals and some of my mistakes over the past year or two. It gave me advice for reorganizing my portfolio. This one weird use case netted me over $3000 within a week.

As my in-house developer.

I paid a developer $500 on UpWork last month for a project that didn’t work out. Burned! So I tried using an AI tool called Windsurf instead to build an online tool for creators. When I showed my MVP to a developer friend, he said a pro would have charged several thousand dollars! I spent $20 on my subscription.

Before developing a new AI use case, I run it through my 3-question test:

1) Will it save me at least 2 hours weekly?

2) Does it require less than 30 minutes to set up?

3) Will the quality be at least 80% as good as what I’d produce?

I’ve packaged all my best AI prompts, workflows, and strategies into my premium newsletter PromptWritingStudio. These are the exact techniques that helped me earn an extra $3000 in a single week and save thousands in development costs.

Several times a week I share my best prompts and techniques for using tools like ChatGPT, and Claude with creators. I launched this premium newsletter a few weeks ago, and dozens of creators are inside. Discover more.
