Hi Reader, Yesterday, I told you about my golden rules for affiliate marketing. In case you missed it:
Here’s an example: I wanted to overhaul my social media profiles earlier this year. I was rocking out with a headshot of me 8 years ago when I had more hair and fewer wrinkles! My pic wasn’t disingenuous, but I felt like a Tindr guy who turns up in real life and looks nothing like his profile pic. I took a few snaps with my iPhone but couldn’t get the lighting right. My headshots either look overexposed or underlit. And I wasn’t about to take an afternoon off to ask a pro to photograph me. I stumbled across Picstudio.ai. It uses AI to turn amateur headshots into professional ones. You can buy packs for LinkedIn, authors, and even cosplay! I took a few headshots, uploaded them, and paid $29 for my pack. Boom! It spat out 40 headshots for my social media profiles. They weren’t all good, but I’d more than enough. And the whole thing took less than five minutes. Now, I’m building a YouTube playlist about how content creators can use LinkedIn to grow their brand and find clients. I like creating content that solves problems. Surely, I’m not the only person who hates taking headshots? I plugged the term into the YouTUbe SEO tool VIDIQ. Sure enough, this topic has thousands of searches. So, I recorded a five-minute video showing how I used PicStudio. I’m not trying to go viral with this piece of content. It’s simply a nice addition to my playlist. And it meets my criteria for promoting a product. If a viewer buys a headshot package from my link, I earn $5. That hardly quits your job money, but it’s a nice bonus. Those affiliate offers can add up. Write on, P.S. Next week, I’m promoting an offer by Matt McWilliams. He’s helping creators of all sizes build their own affiliate programs. I’ve worked with Matt a few times over the years. Smart guy. Watch your inbox. |

Hi Reader, Forget the algo. Don't worry about going viral. The real action lies in building an email list or newsletter. Many paths to monetization exist for newsletter owners. Here's one: Build an email list, and you'll get invites to 3rd party bundles and promotions. I say no to most 3rd part promotions. They're either not a good fit or I don't believe they'll convert. But, I regularly partner up with InfoStack. If you haven't heard of them, they bundle courses and products from across the...
Hi Reader Google is facing BIG problems in 2025. And I don’t just mean the US Justice Department telling the boffins at Mountain View to sell off Chrome. Search is one of Google’s core products, and frankly, it’s broken. As a search user, finding what I want is harder because the results are often wrong, unhelpful, or take ages to wade through. As a content publisher and creator, ranking a site in search is harder because the algo favors Reddit and giga-chad brands like our ex-friends at...
Hi Reader, I discovered a fun website the other day, nohello.net, which offers some contrarian netiquette. When you’re DM-ing or messaging someone, stop saying hello, hola, heya or Dia Dhuit (that’s Irish for hello). Excessive politeness is the equivalent of answering a ringing phone, greeting the caller, and putting them on hold. It’s maddeningly frustrating. I’m on board with the contrarian piece of netiquette for two reasons. Reason 1: It rings alarm bells I get messages from scammers via...
