First the bad news: 2032 isn’t looking hot right now. There’s a 1 in 48 chance Asteroid YR4 2024 will crash into Earth in seven years. A telescope in Chile snapped pics of the rock hurtling through space at 30,000 mph last week. Now, the rock is currently at the top of NASA’s risk list. We can expect an explosion on par with 7.7 megatons of TNT or 340 times the energy of the Hiroshima bomb. If it hits, we’re talking 8 megatons of TNT or 340 times the Hiroshima bomb. An instant goodbye to any city it lands on. Slàn Dublin (that’s Irish for goodbye). So far, no word on Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Affleck, or Michael. According to AI, “current space science doesn’t support the idea of using a drill to stop an asteroid.” Crap. Now, the good news: ChatGPT says boffins are investigating strategies, including nuclear deflection, crashing a spacecraft into the rock, and even a gravity tractor that would fly alongside the rock and pull it off course. Oh, and the rock stands a better chance of crashing into the moon than Earth, although neither scenario is likely. So “don’t lose sleep over Asteroid YR4 2024”. Thanks ChatGPT. I can rest easy. The latest AI models are getting pretty good at synthesizing news sources and cutting through the noise on the web. I use ChatGPT and Perplexity more than Google to research and summarize news stories from multiple sources. I’ve even hot-wired ChatGPT voice mode to the quick action button on my phone to fact-check the latest doom-and-gloom story from mainstream news. The experience is far more enjoyable than wading through a trashy tabloid article stuffed with ads and pop-ups. Less time spent consuming content = more time creating content. That’s a win-win for my business. If you want to use AI to research faster, think better, and get ahead of 99% of people, you’ll love PromptWritingStudio. In this email course, I will show you how to set up ChatGTP, Claude, and other AI tools for your work. I cover topics like prompt engineering, using custom AI agents, and creating content without losing the personal touch. I also share specific AI shortcuts, like the one I teased above. This newsletter course is in beta and costs a little more than a cinema ticket and snacks. If you want in, reply with the words “Armageddon”, and I’ll send you the details.

In my corporate days, all the big execs employed executive assistants. Last time I checked, the exec assistants earned upwards of $100k per year. Nice work if you can get it. However, I’d a sneaking suspicion these exec assistants did the real work, while their bosses hopped in and out of Microsoft Teams calls in between boozy long lunches and golf games. I liked the idea of having a right hand. So, when I quit the corporate racket and started my business, I hired my first assistant. We...
I’m a big Strava user. For the uninitiated, It’s like social media for running and cycling nerds. Nail a workout, upload it, and get kudos from your running and cycling buddies. They recently squeezed AI into the product. Now Strava Intelligence is summarizing my workouts with mindless platitudes like “solid long run” even if I spent half the workout gasping violently on the side of the running track. Like a trainer who says “good job” after every set, generic AI feedback adds no value. So, I...
